My father had a dream

In Florence, during the 2nd World War, my father, who was the oldest of three sons, was only 13 yeas old but already considered a young man. His family lost everything in the war. But with a dream, the family started over again to work and build a life. With only a bike as means of transportation he started to work. A horse substituted the bike and as time passed he was finally able to have a truck. My father had a dream!!
Hard work, respect for his clients and his intuition led him to improve his life and that of his family. This dream brought him to Greve in Chianti where he bought “La Camporena”. His new adventure began with hard work and also a lot of satisfaction.
The work at “la Camporena” was completely different to what he was used to. It was both physically as well as mentally challenging. My fathers dream now was to grow……He now wanted to start an “Agriturismo”. One day while I was looking through a collection of locally produced wine, I came across a bottle which was dated 1967. The year I was born. My heart skipped a beat and then my eyes filled with tears. This bottle was from La Camporena. My father had a dream and now it had become mine.
With great passion, in 2006 I began to produce my wine. The people who worked with me on the farm shared my passion and we began our journey together. Today, with great pride, I present my wine with the hope that each glass contains the essence of life. Opposite to what people believe, wine is not produced in the cellar. The process of wine making begins with the land, the vines, hard work and dedication. My dream is that when you taste my wine and you understand it’s history.
